Annual Charity Ball

Event Date: 02/20/2026

You are cordially invited to attend the St. Patrick’s Society of Montreal Annual Charity Ball, taking place on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Hotel.

Originating in 1834, the Annual Charity Ball is Montreal’s longest-running social event and marks the official opening of The Irish Season. It brings together Irish Montrealers and friends to celebrate heritage, community, and philanthropy.

We are honoured to welcome Mary Jeanne Phelan as Honorary Patron of the 2026 Ball. A proud Montrealer of deep Irish heritage, Ms. Phelan is a Partner at Blakes and Practice Group Leader of the Financial Services Group in Montréal. She is widely respected for her leadership within the legal and financial services communities and for her longstanding commitment to education, professional service, and community involvement.

We are also pleased to announce that our Guest of Honour for 2026 will be Seamus O’Regan, a proud Newfoundlander with strong Irish roots and a distinguished career in public service and national leadership. His presence reflects this year’s theme: “Honouring Legacy, Inspiring the Future.”

Ticket prices for 2026

  • $325 – Regular admission

  • $225 – Junior admission (under 30)

The Ball is a formal black-tie event. Tuxedos, evening gowns, mess kit, or formal military or civil dress are appropriate. Guests may incorporate Irish tartan sashes, Celtic jewellery, or other symbols of Irish heritage.

Founded in 1834, the St. Patrick’s Society of Montreal supports Montreal’s Irish community through charitable, cultural, and educational initiatives. The Annual Charity Ball is a cornerstone of this work.

Guests are invited to support the Society through the Patrons’ Fund, which directly benefits its charitable programs. All donors are recognized as Patrons in the printed programme, and Ball attendees are invited to an exclusive VIP pre-dinner cocktail reception. Official tax receipts are issued for all donations.

If you are unable to attend, we hope you will still consider contributing to the Patrons’ Fund. Donations, cheques, e-transfers, and corporate sponsorships or special corporate tables may be arranged by contacting us directly.

We hope you will join us in celebrating our Irish heritage and supporting the vital work of the Society.

Le meas,

Sherri McGurnaghan,
