A HUNDRED YEARS OF IRELAND IN THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE
Professor Patrick Duffy has taught historical geography, rural and landscape studies in the Department of Geography at National University of Ireland, Maynooth. He is a former Fellow of the Institute of Irish Studies, Queen’s University, Belfast and is Chair of the National Geographical Sciences Committee in the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin. He is author of Exploring the history and heritage of Irish landscapes (Dublin, 2007) and Landscapes of south Ulster (Belfast, 1993), and editor of At the anvil: essays in historical geography (Dublin, 2012); To and from Ireland: planned migration schemes c.1600-2000 (Dublin, 2004); and Gaelic Ireland: Land, Lordship and Settlement c1250-1650 (Dublin, 2004). He is also author of numerous book chapters and papers.
