Vincent Woods is a writer and broadcaster and is one of the best-known arts commentators in Ireland. He presents a weekly arts programme on RTÉ, Irish national radio and has also presented many news programmes. His theatre plays include At The Black Pig’s Dyke and A Cry from Heaven and his work has been staged by both the Abbey and Druid Theatre Company. He has also written several plays for radio. He has published two collections of poetry, The Colour of Language and Lives and Miracles and co-edited The Turning Wave: Poems and Songs of Irish Australia. Vincent is also an occasional columnist for the Irish Times and gives regular readings of his work in Ireland and internationally. He has written lyrics for songs recorded by a number of Irish and American singers and frequently works with musicians and singers in presenting music, song and poetry events. He lives in Dublin and is a member of Aosdána, the Irish academy of artists.
